Primary Election Day 2022!

Primary Election Day 2022!

Do you have your Election Day voting plan yet?

Know when and where you’re voting, how you’re getting there, what you need to cast your ballot.

More information can be found on the MI Secretary of State’s website.

Primary election ballots must be SINGLE PARTY! Voters may not vote cross-party in the primary, otherwise their ballots will be considered invalid and will be discarded. In the primary, please remember to vote single party (all Democrats or all Republicans).

Double check your voter registration online! The MI Secretary of State's website will be overwhelmed with traffic over the next few days so expect this to take a bit longer than normal. Michigan allows voters to register at any point before polling places close on election day so be sure to have all of the necessary items with you if you're registering in person at your local clerk's office. Here's how you can register within 14 days of the election.

Find your polling place! Know where to go and what times you're able to go on election day. For future elections (like, the general election this November!), you can request an absentee voter ballot that you can mail back rather than having to vote in person. Exercise your right to vote whichever way best fits your life and schedule!

Check out what's on your ballot before heading to the polls. Look into the ballot initiatives, proposals, and candidates to make sure you're making informed decisions. And don't forget to vote single party!

Remember to be patient while we wait for our state's primary election results. Our poll workers spend many hours ensuring the integrity of our elections and have to pre-process absentee ballots before they're counted, and this takes time. We won't have results immediately after polls close tomorrow night, so keep an eye on your trusted news sources and the MI Secretary of State the following days for final results. Here's a short video on why the MI SOS doesn't have day-of results for our elections.

Lastly, please remember to thank our poll workers and other volunteers helping to keep our polling places safe, secure, and welcoming for ALL voters in Michigan! Our democracy, and our fair and free elections, depend on our friends and neighbors who dedicate their time to this process. If you have the capacity, consider volunteering as a poll watcher or sign up as a poll worker for our general election in November. If you're not sure how to do this, please reach out to us, our state party, or our county clerk for more information.
