The purpose of the county convention is to elect executive committee members that will serve the next 2 year term starting January 1st 2023. Anyone who is a member of the MDP (free) can vote in this convention. You may register as an MDP up until the time of the convention.

Once this group of executives is elected at the convention, a temporary Chair and Secretary is also elected to oversee the officer elections for the BCD that will occur some time in December. Anyone can self nominate or be nominated for an officer role between now and the officers election.

All democratic candidates who were elected in the most recent primary election have automatic spots on this new executive committee. This means that the following people will be on the committee from the beginning and do not require a vote, they can, however vote at the county convention:

• Chris Boger - County Commissioner Candidate

• Andrew Watkins - State House Candidate

• Scott Starr - State Senate Candidate

• Bart Goldberg - US House of Representatives Candidate

The goal is to elect at least 3x the number of democratic candidates to executive positions. Keep in mind that this is a suggestion, but if we can't meet this number due to lack of interest we will go with what we have. Adding members later on is always an option.

Note that all officer positions are eligible for self nomination.
